Risk Management Information Security System

The RMIS security system allows agencies access to information on risk management and workers' compensation and requires that all data being transmitted is secured through 256-bit SSL encryption.

Check Your Browser

Instructions for checking the encryption capabilities of your Internet browser are located on our Secure Socket Layer (SSL) page along with additional information on online data encryption.

If you are still unsure whether your browser supports 256-bit encryption, or if you use a browser that is not listed in the information on this page, please contact your agency Information Resources department.

Levels of Access

The RMIS security system provides each agency risk manager local desktop control of their user's access to the RMIS data. Access to RMIS information and processes is based on each agency user's function within the agency.

A listing of functions and default access levels may be viewed at SORM's User Functions page (this will open in a new window).

There are three levels of access for each subsystem:

  1. No Access:
Users who have not been granted access to a particular subsystem will not see that subsystem on their menu options, and will not be allowed access to any part of the subsystem.

  2. Read Only:
Users with Read Only access to a subsystem are able to view information stored for that subsystem, but are not able to change, add, or delete that information.

  3. Read and Write Access:
Users with Read and Write access to a subsystem are able to view that information and, where appropriate, add information, delete information, or change information for that subsystem.

Need Help?

The RMIS security system has online help text available to assist users in navigating through the security process. SORM staff is also available to answer agency questions. The system is designed to be flexible and easy to use.
