The State Office of Risk Management is looking for a dynamic Risk Manager who will assist client agencies in identifying potential hazards, and developing and implementing programs, policies, and/or procedures to reduce or eliminate loss exposures, and to maximize positive opportunities. This position requires strong presentation and leadership skills, as well as the ability to be a motivated and a strategic team member. This person will interact directly with leaders of client agencies, and will develop a close working relationship with other insurance professionals in a collaborative atmosphere to develop feasible solutions to complex risk management problems.

The Texas State Office of Risk Management is administratively attached to the Office of the Attorney General and is governed by a five-member Board. The Office is charged by law to administer insurance services obtained by Texas state agencies, including the self-insured government employees workers’ compensation insurance program and the state risk management programs. Its mission is to enable State of Texas agencies to protect their employees, the general public, and the State’s physical and financial assets by reducing and controlling risk in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
