SORM Welcomes New Insurance Manager

On July 1, 2019, the State Office of Risk Management welcomed Shelly Milvo as a new insurance manager for SORM’s statewide insurance program in the Enterprise Risk Department. Ms. Milvo will have direct assignments to specific agencies in support of all insurance lines and efforts to respond to partner needs. 

“I am happy to be back in Austin, and proud to be working for a state agency with such profound expertise,” said Ms. Milvo. “I already feel at home lending my own knowledge base to SORM.”

Ms. Milvo graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and immediately started working for broker firms in Dallas. While working in Dallas, Shelly started testing for her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and gained experience in property and casualty commercial insurance while leading a certificate team.
