The State Office of Risk Management supports a statewide Continuity Council as a forum for federal, state, local, tribal, and private entities to share ideas on continuity. The Council facilitates relationships with and among various governmental and private entities to support a whole community focus for the Continuity program. The Council will strive to create a welcoming environment for all levels of continuity experience and will focus on providing education, guidance, and resources to all members of the continuity community. These meetings and events will be open to anyone who wants to attend.
October Council Meetings and Updates
The Continuity Council Committee met on October 1st and decided Council meetings will be held the third Tuesday and Thursday of the month. The Tuesday meetings will be in person and the Thursday meetings will be held online to encourage maximum participation. Each meeting will cover the same topic and be held in the same format, such as roundtable discussion, practice exercises, or presentations.
The Committee also reviewed the Charter for the Council and will vote on its approval and Chair positions during the next Committee meeting. If you would like to volunteer to be on the Committee, please email COOP@SORM.texas.gov.
This month’s meetings will be roundtable discussions regarding expanding the recommendations for the Human Resources section of the Continuity Plans. Please see the October Newsletter for more details.
