On August 3, 2015, Alan Ryman, a licensed attorney in Texas and New Jersey, joined State Office of Risk Management as SORM’s first Compliance Officer. Mr. Ryman will focus on the review and updating of existing policies and procedures, serve as audit liaison, and also manage contracts, customer complaint/ethics, and open records functions. SORM’s Compliance and Practices Program is a part of SORM’s on-going initiatives.
“Alan’s creativity, diplomacy, and intelligence will help further SORM’s mission to provide active leadership that assists State of Texas agencies with reducing and controlling risk in the most efficient and cost-effective manner,” said Deea Western, Chief of Legal Services.
“I am excited to begin work at SORM,” said Mr. Ryman. “I believe my experience complements the Office’s culture, goals, and objectives. I look forward to working with SORM’S internal departments and its external clients on compliance issues in a constructive and collaborative way.”
Alan joins SORM from the Texas Department of Insurance Workers’ Compensation Division. He has more than 7 years of private practice experience and specialized training in collaborative law.
