On December 2, 2013, the State Office of Risk Management welcomed Maureen Clement as the SORM Continuity Planning Consultant. Maureen will provide guidance on continuity planning to state agencies, consistent with the policy letter and existing legislation and rules.
“We are excited to welcome Maureen to SORM. Her extensive background and enthusiasm for continuity of operations planning will be a great asset to the state,” said Risk Management Director, Andres Campo.
“Continuity planning is a vital component to ensuring that the State of Texas can continue providing services to its citizens under all threats and conditions,” said Ms. Clement. “I am looking forward to assisting state agencies with the development of their continuity of operations programs.”
Maureen previously served as a Continuity of Operations Planner and myCOOP administrator for the Texas Division of Emergency Management and as a Continuity of Operations Planner for Abrams Learning and Information Systems, Inc. (ALIS, Inc.) She assisted in the creation of the current Texas Continuity Planning Crosswalk. Maureen is trained in the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) and has served as a facilitator for tabletop exercises and as a controller for full-scale continuity exercises. She is a trained Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member and Public Information Officer. Maureen is a member of the Emergency Management Association of Texas.
