SORM Announces New Public Relations Liaison
The State Office of Risk Management is proud to announce Janice McCoy has joined the Office as the new Public Relations Liaison. Ms. McCoy will serve as the liaison between SORM and the Legislature, and will also facilitate relationships with our internal staff, customers, other governmental entities, business partners, media, and the general public.
“We are so pleased to welcome Ms. McCoy to the Office,” said Shelby Hyman, Director of Public Relations. “Janice joins us to help evolve the traditional role of government relations to actively engage and contribute to our missions by investing in agency culture, educating clients about the important work we do, and continuing to build essential relationships that help us fulfill our missions.”
“I am thrilled to be a part of SORM,” said, Ms. McCoy. “The evolution of service brings unique challenges to every state entity and to everyone those entities serve. The Office exists to offer assistance in developing solutions to those challenges, and I look forward to helping foster our important relationships and delivering the message of possibilities.”
Ms. McCoy will lend her extensive expertise in working for the Legislature as a former chief of staff, coalition director, and policy analyst, as well as previously serving as executive director for the Texas Funeral Service Commission. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas A&M University.
