SORM Modified Operations Updates

To limit email congestion, we will update this page as the situation evolves. Check back regularly for new updates regarding SORM operations.

Update 6/9/2020: Classroom-based training is still suspended until further notice; however, we are now offering select courses virtually via Zoom. Please request virtual training through the Training Request Page on the website. Our training consultant will work to accommodate your training needs in a virtual environment.

Update 3/24/2020: The State Office of Risk Management will suspend all classroom-based training until further notice. All classes scheduled through the month of April have been temporarily postponed, including the Workers’ Compensation Claims Coordinator Training class. We are exploring alternatives to continue to support our statewide community, including advisory calls, online training, and other supplemental resources.

Dear SORM Community:

Executive leadership at the State Office of Risk Management cares about the well-being of our employees, our customers, and our partners. We have made multiple in-office modifications to adapt to the changing situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are extending every effort to minimize disruption and to continue business operations as much as possible. Customer service continues to be a cornerstone of our mission.

Essential personnel will be in the office to conduct state business in support of our statutory missions. We will continue to be available by email or telephone to assist agencies with their continuity of operations (COOP) plans, risk management programs, statewide insurance program needs, and workers’ compensation claims.

We continue to monitor and respond to the events as they unfold, and have multiple contingent plans to continue service. We want to assure everyone that we are working as hard to provide as much normalcy as possible to those who depend on us. We will communicate any changes or disruptions in service.
