National Safety Month
The State Office of Risk Management proudly recognizes June as National Safety Month, an initiative led by the National Safety Council (NSC) to raise awareness of safety and accident prevention. Observed each year, National Safety Month serves as an important reminder that safety is a shared responsibility and that proactive steps can help reduce injuries in the workplace, on the road, and at home. Throughout the month, organizations across the country are encouraged to promote safe practices, share educational resources, and strengthen their commitment to protecting the well-being of employees, families, and communities.
This year’s theme emphasizes providing resources to prevent accidents that could harm employees and communities alike.
The topics for each week of June are as follows:
- June 1–6: Moving Safety Forward
- June 7-13: Staying Safe on the Roads
- June 14-20: Promoting Holistic Worker Health
- June 21-30: Preventing Slips, Trips, and Falls
Since its founding, the National Safety Council has provided free tools and guidance that help organizations and individuals prevent injuries and save lives. As National Safety Month continues, we encourage everyone to take part by exploring available resources, sharing safety information, and putting practical prevention strategies into action. Small, consistent efforts can make a meaningful difference in reducing risk and creating safer environments for employees, families, and the communities we serve. By working together and keeping safety at the forefront of our daily routines, we can help build a stronger, more informed culture of prevention that lasts well beyond the month of June.
