Slips, Trips, and Falls

Slip, trip, and fall injuries are the most frequently reported type of injury in the workplace. While not always the case, these types of claims can be the costliest benefit paid to injured workers in terms of medical benefits and indemnity benefits.

SORM offers consultation services and training to address these types of injuries. A consultation provides guidance and resources for hazard identification and analysis to reduce the frequency and severity of these injuries. Resources may include risk assessments, on-site walkthroughs, injury root cause and trend analysis. Where appropriate, SORM will provide recommendations for mitigating identified hazards based on industry best practice and regulatory requirements. SORM’s Texas Enterprise Risk Management (TERM) Guidelines offer additional resources to support your efforts.

If you are interested in scheduling a SORM consultation to address these and other hazards related to state employees, please contact your assigned SORM Risk Management Consultant. Point of contact information for state agencies can be found on the Enterprise Risk Contacts page.

Training enforces situational awareness to help employees work more safely. SORM’s Training Consultants can provide training to help improve awareness of hazards in the workplace that contribute to slips, trips, and falls. If you are interested in SORM’s training options, please visit the Star Learning Management System (LMS) page.
