Spring Housekeeping

As the spring season approaches, this is a good opportunity to learn about and exercise good housekeeping practices. Organizing, decluttering and disinfecting a workstation lays a foundation for accident and fire prevention. A work environment that reflects ideal housekeeping best practices improves workers’ safety, health and productivity. It also reduces the cost of potential injuries caused by an unkempt workstation. SORM recommends that Texas State Agencies encourage spring housekeeping amongst staff. Please visit the OSHA website for more information pertaining to housekeeping safety.

Reminder To

  • Update policies and procedures

  • Train staff on health and safety best practices. Education is prevention!

The State Office of Risk Management (SORM) supplies this information in an effort to protect Texas State Agencies, the general public, and the state’s physical and financial assets by reducing and controlling risk in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. SORM’s goal for the Enterprise Risk Newsletter is to highlight specific seasonal risks and provide best practices for mitigating said risks.
