The State Office of Risk Management is looking for a Contract Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the execution and administration of contracts. The Contract Manager is primarily responsible for defining business requirements, developing performance expectations, monitoring and maintaining active contracts, and completing reporting requirements. This position also assists with purchasing and procurement oversight. The Contract Manager ensures that the contract is satisfactorily performed, and the responsibilities of both parties are properly discharged. Transparency is key throughout the life of a contract, so regular communication with stakeholders and management is critical.
This position is a key role in Compliance Management and serves as a resource throughout the agency. You will work collaboratively with Legal Services’ staff and a wide variety of other people. Your duties are designed to complement the procurement and contracting responsibilities of the Director of Compliance Management, Assistant General Counsel, and General Counsel.
SORM’s core missions are customer service oriented. We administer the workers’ compensation program, insurance and risk management programs, and continuity of operations program for other state entities.

Level of Supervision of State Classification: Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

The Texas State Office of Risk Management is administratively attached to the Office of the Attorney General and is governed by a five-member Board. The Office is charged by law to administer insurance services obtained by Texas state agencies, including the self-insured government employees workers’ compensation insurance program and the state risk management programs.
