Privacy Policy

The State Office of Risk Management maintains this site (www.sorm.state.tx.us) as a public service. This policy describes SORM’s privacy practices regarding information collected from visitors to the site. It contains information about what information is collected and how that information is used. Please note that all information collected or maintained by SORM is subject to the provisions of the Texas Public Information Act (Chapter 552, Texas Government Code). Information Collected

Cookies: A cookie is an extremely small text file that resides on the user’s hard drive, created at the request of the web server to track specific information. The SORM website may use cookies to provide interactive pages, such as web-based forms and surveys. SORM does not use the information for other purposes.

E-mails: If you send us an electronic mail message with a question or comment that contains personally identifying information, we will only use the personally identifiable information to respond to your request and analyze trends. We may redirect your message to another government agency who is in a better position to answer your question. We will not sell or release your e-mail address unless you affirmatively consent to the sale and release of the information, except as described in the section on e-mail below.

Use/Release of Information: All information collected from the SORM website, including e-mails, is subject to the Texas Public Information Act. You are entitled on request to be informed of the information we collect about you from forms submitted in both paper and electronic formats. Under Sections 552.021 and 552.023 of the Government Code, you are also entitled to receive and review this information. Under Section 559.004 of the Government Code, you are entitled to have us correct any information about you in our possession that is incorrect.
