SORM Welcomes Lisa Maciejewski-West to Board of Directors
The State Office of Risk Management is pleased to welcome Elizabeth “Lisa” Maciejewski-West, of Horseshoe Bay, to its Board of Directors. Ms. Maciejewski-West’s appointment was announced by the Office of the Governor on September 6, 2023. Her term is set to expire on February 1, 2029. Ms. Maciejewski-West replaces Mr. Tomas Gonzalez whose term expired February 1, 2023.
Ms. Maciejewski-West is the owner and founder of Gold Star Medical Business Services. She launched her business in 2006 and has been active in the medical administration field since 1982. She has extensive knowledge of medical billing, medical office administration, and medical compliance.
Executive Director, Stephen Vollbrecht, and Board Director, Gerald Ladner, recently welcomed Ms. Maciejewski-West to visit with staff and tour the downtown Austin office. “Lisa is a wonderful addition to our leadership,” said Mr. Vollbrecht. “She is authentic, service-minded, and highly accomplished, and I believe she will provide incredibly invaluable insights to support our governing board and our missions.”

Ms. Maciejewski-West previously served as vice chair of the Rehabilitation Council of Texas for two three-year terms, is a current member of the American Academy of Professional Coders and the American Medical Billing Association. Ms. Maciejewski-West received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Manhattan School of Music and holds certifications as a Medical Coder (CMC), Medical Office Manager (CMOM), and Medical Insurance Specialist (CMIS) by the Practice Management Institute, and a Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
