SORM 200: Annual Report By State Agencies

Each year, state agencies self-report the information in Labor Code Section 412.053, commonly referred to as the SORM 200. The State Office of Risk Management (SORM) uses the SORM 200 data to assess risk; identify insurance needs; tailor risk strategies; and develop resources to address identified exposures. The SORM 200 data is also used to prepare SORM’s Biennial Report to the Legislature.

The state agency “point of contact” for the SORM 200 is your risk manager or risk management specialist. Agencies are encouraged to begin collecting information for each part of the SORM 200 now.

Part 1 – Risk Management Expenditures

  • Section 2: Risk Management Expenditures

Part 2 – Insurance Purchases

  • Section 2: Insurance Expenditures
  • Sections 3 – 13: Insurance Purchases

Part 3 – Losses Incurred

  • Section 2: Claims and Judgments
  • Sections 3 – 13: Incurred Losses to State-Owned Assets
  • Sections 14 – 24: Incurred Liability Losses

In each Part, Comptroller categories and expenditure codes should be used to gather specific data. Additional details will also be collected in each part of the SORM 200.

The SORM 200 is open from September 1 through October 31, 2024. The final report is due 60 days after the close of the fiscal year.
