SORM Welcomes Jeffrey Houston to Board of Directors
The State Office of Risk Management (Office) recently welcomed Jeffrey Houston, of Dripping Springs, to its Board of Directors. Mr. Houston’s appointment was announced by the Office of the Governor on February 22, 2024. His term is set to expire on February 1, 2025. Mr. Houston replaces Gerald Ladner, Sr., who was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Office in the same announcement.
Mr. Houston is senior vice president at Mondee Holdings, Inc. in Austin. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society of Austin and former member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
Executive Director, Stephen Vollbrecht, and Board Chair, Gerald Ladner, recently welcomed Mr. Houston to visit with staff and tour the downtown Austin office. “We are extremely fortunate to have Jeff on our board,” said Mr. Vollbrecht. “He’s the first member with a finance background that we’ve had on our board during my tenure. I look forward to having his invaluable expertise on our governing board.”
Mr. Houston received a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Philosophy from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration with a finance concentration from DePaul University and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is president of the Terrascena Property Owners Association, a former coach for several Upward Youth Basketball teams, and previous volunteer at Austin Ridge Bible Church.
